In an attempt to contain the virus that has claimed Vedran Corluka and Wilson Palacios, the canteen at Tottenham’s training ground has been made “off limits” according to Harry Redknapp. With the 2006 ‘Lasagne-gate’ fresh in the memory Redknapp added, “We are just going to train and get out of there. There will be no food or anything.” David Moyes is hoping for speedy recoveries of a different kind following his side’s Europa League exit on Thursday. Moyes is confident that Everton can maintain their recent domestic form despite the disappointing loss in Lisbon: “We have set standards but there are not many positives when you play like that. However, we cannot complain about the consistency the players have shown in the league the last few months.” Gregg Morgan

Squad sheets: Wigan Athletic v Tottenham Hotspur

Wigan cannot do worse than the last time they encountered Tottenham and even a routine defeat would count as some sort of ‘revenge’. The Wigan manager, Roberto Martínez, would hope for more against a Spurs side that, after beginning the season with two emphatic away wins, have stumbled repeatedly away from White Hart Lane. His team, unlike Harry Redknapp’s, are used to the dreadful surface at the DW Stadium and, while Emmerson Boyce could easily replace the struggling Titus Bramble, Tottenham lack a ready-made fill-in for Aaron Lennon.
